How 96 Check App handles the IMEI you enter and your check history.
Operated by: the independent developer of 96 Check App (“the Developer”). 96 Check App is an independent, informational tool. It is not affiliated with, authorised by, or endorsed by Apple Inc. “Apple”, “iPhone”, and “iPad” are trademarks of Apple Inc., used here only for identification.
At a glance
- We send the identifier you type, your device model, iOS version and App version, and, only if you turn on notifications, a push token. Never your name, email, contacts, photos, or location.

1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains what data 96 Check App handles and how. The App is built to be data-minimal: it collects only what is needed to perform a lookup, and it keeps your history on your own device. By using the App, you agree to this Policy.

2. What we send to our server
When you first open the App, it registers with our server under a per-installation key, together with your device model, iOS version and App version, so we can keep the service secure and know which versions are in use. When you tap “Check”, the App sends the identifier you entered (such as an IMEI or serial number) and the technical data needed to return a response (for example, a temporary request token). If you turn on notifications, the App also registers a push token so we can tell you when a result is ready, see “Notifications” below. We never send your name, email, phone number, contacts, photos, or location.

3. What stays on your device
Your check history (the identifier and a short result summary) is stored locally on your device. It is not uploaded to us and is not synced to any account. You can delete a single entry, clear everything from the History screen, or remove all of it by uninstalling the App.

The App contains no third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, shows no ads, and does not build an advertising profile about you. We do not sell or share your data with data brokers. The system advertising identifiers (IDFA/IDFV) are governed solely by your device settings.

5. Payments
Paid lookups are processed by the App Store. Your payment-card details are handled by the platform and never reach us; we receive only a confirmation that a purchase succeeded so that we can deliver the lookup you paid for.

6. Notifications
If you turn on notifications, the App registers an Apple Push Notification service (APNs) device token together with your device model (for example, “iPhone 15 Pro Max”) so we can send you transactional alerts, such as letting you know a check result is ready. These are not marketing messages. You can turn notifications off at any time in iOS Settings; once you do, or when you uninstall the App, the token is no longer used and is removed from our server.

Important7. On-device AI summaries
On supported devices with Apple Intelligence enabled, the App can generate a short, plain-language summary of a result using Apple’s on-device foundation model. This runs ENTIRELY on your device: no result data, no identifier, and no generated text is sent to us, to Apple, or to any third party, and nothing is used to train any model. The summary exists only in the current view. On devices that do not support this, the feature is simply unavailable.

8. Data retention
Your on-device history stays on your device until you delete it. On our server we keep: a record of each check (which installation, which plan, when, and a one-way hash of the identifier, not the identifier itself) to enforce free limits and prevent abuse; for paid checks, a copy of the result you saw, including the identifier, for 180 days, so we can handle refund requests and support questions; and for free checks, the provider’s answer for that identifier, kept for as long as we offer the service, so the same device is not looked up twice. Security logs of refused requests are kept for 60 days. We do not use any of this to build a profile of you.

9. Children’s privacy
The App is a general-purpose utility and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Your rights & choices
You can view, delete, or share your on-device history at any time. Depending on your region, you may have rights to access or erase personal data. Because we hold no account for you and keep only minimal logs, deleting your on-device history and uninstalling the App removes essentially all data associated with you.
